About the Fair

A West Nipissing Tradition Celebrating Agriculture, Homecraft & Community Spirit Since 1900

The Warren Fair, proudly presented by the Warren Agricultural Society, has been one of West Nipissing’s most enduring rural traditions since 1900. For well over a century, the fair has brought together farm families, neighbours, and visitors to celebrate agricultural excellence, homecraft creativity, and the close-knit community spirit that defines this northern Ontario region.

A Fair Rooted in Pioneer Farming & Northern Community Life

When the fair first began, Warren was a small but growing agricultural settlement supported by family farms, dairy herds, logging activity, and early local businesses. Agricultural societies played a central role during these formative decades, helping farmers improve livestock, share knowledge, and strengthen rural connections across dispersed northern communities.

Early fairs showcased livestock judging, crop competitions, preserves, quilting, sewing, and demonstrations of vital homesteading skills. These long-standing traditions continue to inspire the fair’s modern exhibits.
