About the Fair

A Huron County Tradition Celebrating Agriculture, Homecraft & Community Spirit Since 1855

The Seaforth Fall Fair, proudly hosted by the Seaforth Agricultural Society, has been a cherished rural celebration in Huron East since 1855. For more than 165 years, the fair has brought together farm families, neighbours, and visitors to celebrate agricultural excellence, homecraft creativity, and the strong community values that define Seaforth and its surrounding countryside.

A Fair Rooted in Early Settlement & Rural Community Life

The fair began when Seaforth was growing as a service hub for surrounding farms, mills, and early businesses in what would become Huron County. Agricultural societies played an essential role in pioneer life, helping farmers improve livestock, share knowledge, and build social bonds within the community.

Early Seaforth fairs showcased livestock judging, grain and vegetable competitions, preserves, sewing and quilting, and demonstrations of practical homesteading skills. These founding traditions remain proudly central to the fair today.
