About the Fair
A Northumberland County Tradition Celebrating Agriculture, Homecraft & Community Spirit Since 1863
The Roseneath Fall Fair, proudly presented by the Roseneath Agricultural Society, has been a cherished rural tradition in Northumberland County since 1863. For more than 160 years, the fair has brought together farm families, neighbours, and visitors to celebrate agricultural excellence, homecraft creativity, and the strong community spirit that has long defined Roseneath and Alnwick/Haldimand Township.
A Fair Rooted in Early Rural Life & Pioneer Agriculture
The Roseneath area was thriving with farms, mills, and early homesteads by the mid-19th century. Agricultural societies provided vital support, helping farmers improve livestock, learn new techniques, and build connections in rapidly developing communities.
The earliest Roseneath fairs showcased livestock, vegetables, grain, preserves, quilting, needlework, and essential homesteading skills. These hallmark traditions remain at the heart of the fair today.
