About the Fair

A Brant County Tradition Celebrating Agriculture, Homecraft & Community Pride Since 1858

The Burford Fall Fair, proudly hosted by the Burford Agricultural Society, has been one of Brant County’s most enduring rural traditions since 1858. For more than 165 years, the fair has brought together neighbours, farm families, and visitors to celebrate agricultural excellence, creative homecrafts, and the strong community spirit that defines Burford and the surrounding countryside.

A Fair Rooted in Pioneer Agriculture & Community Growth

The Burford Fall Fair began during a time when the township was flourishing with family farms, mills, and rural industries. Agricultural societies played a central role in community life, helping farmers improve livestock, share farming innovations, and strengthen social bonds.

Early fairs included livestock judging, grain and vegetable displays, preserves, quilting, sewing, and demonstrations of essential homesteading skills. These historic traditions continue to shape the fair today.
