Maple Hill Sap Run celebrates 9 years of community impact
The annual Maple Hill Sap Run is set to return on Sunday, April 26, bringing runners of all ages together in Powassan for a day of fitness, fun, and fundraising
Now in its ninth year, the community event known as the Maple Hill Sap Run will once again take over the streets of Powassan on April 26 with races ranging from kids’ sprints to team relays.
The event takes place on Sunday, April 26, this year, and has raised almost $50,000 for recreation projects in Powassan and the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
On the heels of the Maple Syrup Festival on Saturday, the run on Sunday starts at 9 a.m. It’s the official kick-off to the outdoor race season.
The race starts at 250 Clark in Powassan for the 5K, 10K, Kids 500 M, Student 1 K, and Team Business 5 K.
Food will be provided by Sugarstone Farm, The Carriage House Market, and a post-race lunch by The Wagon Wheel.
The race will also be providing pre- and post-race massages by the students of CTS Canadian Career College. Entertainment will be provided by our sponsor KISS FM and MC Vicki Tyler.
Last year saw sunny skies and a record turnout of 300 participants with a donation totalling $10,000.
All proceeds from this community event go towards supporting youth recreation programs in Powassan as well as the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation.
