About the Fair
A Historic Flamborough Tradition Celebrating Agriculture, Homecraft & Community Spirit Since 1852
The Rockton World’s Fair, proudly hosted by the Rockton Agricultural Society, has been one of Ontario’s most celebrated agricultural fairs since 1852. For more than 170 years, this iconic Thanksgiving-weekend tradition has brought together rural families, neighbours, and visitors from across the province to honour agricultural excellence, creative homecrafts, and the deep community spirit that defines Flamborough and the surrounding region.
A Fair Rooted in Pioneer Farming & Rural Vision
The fair began when the small communities of Beverly Township were shaped by hardworking settler farms, mills, churches, and bustling local trades. Agricultural societies played a vital role in these early years, supporting farmers, improving livestock quality, and strengthening community bonds.
Early Rockton fairs featured dairy and beef cattle judging, grain and hay displays, vegetable competitions, preserves, quilting, sewing, and demonstrations of essential homesteading skills. These core elements remain proudly showcased today.

Agriculture at the Heart of the Rockton World’s Fair
Agriculture is the foundation of the fair and continues to be celebrated through a wide variety of exhibits:
- Dairy and beef cattle
- Sheep, goats, poultry, and small livestock
- Grain, hay, field crops, vegetables & garden produce
- Woodworking, rural crafts & homesteading skills
- Heavy horse displays and traditional draft competitions
These exhibits highlight the knowledge, expertise, and dedication of farm families who have shaped the region for generations.
The homecraft divisions, including preserves, baking, sewing, quilting, knitting, floriculture, fine arts, photography, and junior classes, celebrate the creativity and domestic traditions deeply rooted in agricultural life.
