About the Fair

A Grey County Tradition Celebrating Agriculture, Homecraft & Community Spirit Since 1882

The Rocklyn Fall Fair, proudly presented by the Rocklyn Agricultural Society, has been a cherished Grey County tradition since 1882. For well over a century, this rural fair has brought together farm families, neighbours, and visitors to celebrate agricultural excellence, homecraft creativity, and the strong community spirit that continues to define Rocklyn and its surrounding countryside.

A Fair Rooted in Pioneer Farming & Early Community Life

When the fair first began, Rocklyn was a thriving rural settlement surrounded by farms, orchards, mills, and tightly knit homesteading families. Agricultural societies played a vital role in these early years, helping farmers improve livestock, share knowledge, and build social connections that strengthened the entire community.

Early Rocklyn fairs featured livestock competitions, field crop displays, preserves, quilting, sewing, and demonstrations of essential homesteading skills, traditions that remain proudly honoured today.
