About the Fair

A Blandford-Blenheim Tradition Celebrating Agriculture, Homecraft & Rural Community Spirit Since 1854

The Drumbo Fall Fair, presented by the Drumbo Agricultural Society, is one of Oxford County’s longest-standing rural celebrations. First held in 1854, the fair has honoured the agricultural roots, craftsmanship, and strong community values that define Drumbo and the Township of Blandford-Blenheim for more than 170 years. Generations of families have gathered annually to celebrate their rural heritage and support one of the region’s most enduring traditions.

A Fair Rooted in Early Pioneer Settlement & Farm Life

The fair began during the settlement era, when pioneer families were building farms, clearing fields, and establishing the foundations of rural life in Blandford-Blenheim. Agricultural societies formed to encourage better farming practices, foster cooperation, and promote community development.

Early Drumbo fairs featured livestock competitions, produce and grain displays, homecraft exhibits, and demonstrations of essential homesteading and farming skills. These gatherings strengthened local knowledge and fostered pride within the community.
