The Brooke-Alvinston Watford Fall Fair is one of Ontario’s oldest agricultural fairs, celebrating livestock exhibitions, homecraft competitions, midway attractions, horse shows, agricultural education, and family-friendly entertainment. Celebrating Agriculture in Lambton County

The Brooke-Alvinston Watford Fall Fair has celebrated the agricultural heritage of Lambton County for well over 165 years. Organized by the Brooke-Alvinston Agricultural Society, the fair continues its mission of promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement while showcasing the accomplishments of local farmers, exhibitors, and rural families.

Visitors can explore livestock competitions, homecraft exhibits, horticultural displays, field crop competitions, and educational exhibits while enjoying midway attractions and live entertainment. The Brooke–Alvinston–Watford Fall Fair, hosted by the Brooke-Alvinston Agricultural Society, has been a proud Lambton County tradition since 1880. For well over a century, the fair has brought together families, neighbours, and rural communities across Brooke-Alvinston and Watford to celebrate agricultural excellence, homecraft creativity, and the shared community spirit that defines this region.

A Fair Rooted in Early Rural Life & Township Strength

The fair began when the Brooke and Alvinston communities were thriving agricultural townships, supported by family farms, mills, livestock operations, and local trades. Agricultural societies were essential to pioneer life—helping farmers improve livestock, share new farming methods, and build enduring social and economic connections.

Early fairs featured livestock judging, grain and vegetable displays, preserves, quilting, sewing, and demonstrations of practical homesteading skills. These time-honoured traditions remain central to the fair today.
